Crowns, Inlays & Veneers

Crowns

Very weak teeth or teeth that are to have a major appearance change will have a crown. This is a protective envelope covering the old tooth and giving it a better chance of long term survival in the 24 hour function situation of your mouth.
Two visits are usually needed and the crown is made by a skilled technician in a dental laboratory.

Inlays

These are somewhere between a large filling and a crown. For example, a back tooth needing a large repair, but not so large that a crown is necessary, will be a candidate for an inlay.
The inlay is produced in a laboratory between two visits, and it looks like a tooth coloured filling that is ready to be fitted (inlaid) into a matching cavity in the tooth, and that is what happens. The tooth is restored to a natural appearance and function.

Veneers

As you get older, your teeth become shorter and darker. Whiter and longer teeth will give you a more youthful appearance. With minimal preparation, we can place veneers on your teeth. This veneer is very thin, between 0.5 mm to 1 mm, and is bonded to the tooth. Veneer colour can be matched to the colour of your existing neighbouring teeth or any colour of your choice.

Veneers can last from 10 to 15 years or longer. We can replace veneers individually if necessary. As veneers do not discolour or stain like natural teeth, we can match the shade and colour.

We will design veneers specifically for you to match your physical characteristics
